The Secret World's Marketplace has gone live with the latest update, titled 'Unleashed'. The patch also adds new missions, extra dungeon difficulties (Ankh and Hell Fallen) as well as many bug fixes.

The Secret World auction house

The cross dimensional (cross server) Auction House (called Marketplace) is now live, allowing players to sell, trade and ship items to other players, no matter where they're playing. The Marketplace will be an integral part of The Secret World's growing economy, giving players more flexibility when it comes to how they equip their characters.

Where is the Auction House? It's in the Bank. It's actually been built on as an extension to the banking interface, which seems a bit odd.

Update: Marketplace issues

Since released, the Auction House has been having trouble. Currently (as of Sat 4th August) items bought in the marketplace remain in the listings, meaning any further attempts to buy them fail. You click buy, then confirm purchase and nothing happens. This means it has already been bought.

The best way to actually buy something is look at the expiry date. If the item has 7 days remaining, it is new and might not have been purchased. (However, it probably has been!) Until the listings issue has been corrected, buying anything can be difficult. It is however easy to sell. It seems to be a time to exploit the situation, inflated prices for items work because people seem desperate to buy.

New Missions and bug fixes

Unleashed Patch also adds new missions to Solomon Island, including a 'hidden' mission.

Ankh and Hell Fallen have been given Nightmare modes to keep players entertained until more end-game content can be released.
