You get slab upgrades from visionaries. Kill enough visionaries to unlock two upgrades for a single slab. You can do this by killing the same visionary over and over (which ever you find easiest.)
You should be able to get this through a normal run through of the story. You'll be killing visionaries a lot while you work out how to kill them all in one day.
